LEAVE OF ABSENCE ALERT

Dear Residents and Families,

As the holidays approach Emerald Coast Center remains committed to keeping you and your loved ones safe.  We understand the desire to spend time with family over the holidays but remind you that gatherings pose a high risk in the spreading of COVID 19. Emerald Coast Center continues to follow guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Because of ongoing community transmission of COVID-19 the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that residents do not participate in a planned leave of absence at this time. If, however, a resident wants to schedule a planned leave of absence from the facility, the facility clinical leadership should work with the resident and their loved ones to create a plan for a safer leave.

An element of this plan could include the need for the resident to quarantine in a private room for 14 days upon their return due to the high risk of transmission while out in the community.

Emerald Coast Center strongly encourages you to consider the care needs of your loved one in determining your plan.

If you are listed as one of the approved General Visitors and would like to schedule a visit with your loved one, please contact us at 850.243.6134 and a staff member will gladly help set it up.  If you are not listed as one of the approved General Visitors and wish to be added to the list, please contact us to discuss.

Our dedicated team of Health Care Heroes continue to work on the front lines to care for your loved one and the communities we serve.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Administrator
